Introduction to CompuTec Labels

CompuTec Labels is a label and report printing solution for SAP Business One. It provides centralized tools for configuring printers, reports, templates, and rules that determine how printing requests are processed.

CompuTec Labels can be used with SAP Business One and other CompuTec products, including:

• CompuTec ProcessForce
• CompuTec WMS
• CompuTec PDC

This guide explains how to install and configure CompuTec Labels and how to use it to process and manage label and report requests.

What you can do with CompuTec Labels

Depending on your configuration, you can use CompuTec Labels to:

• Configure printers and printer types
• Configure reports and label templates
• Define rules that determine which report and printer are used for a request
• Generate and print labels and reports manually or automatically
• Retrieve data from SAP Business One for use in labels and reports
• Send generated reports by email
• Attach generated PDF reports to requested documents
• Review label requests and their processing status
• Use logs to investigate request processing

How CompuTec Labels works

CompuTec Labels processes requests according to the configuration defined for an SAP Business One company database.

A typical configuration includes:

1. Configure a company – Add and configure the SAP Business One company database that will use CompuTec Labels.
2. Configure printers – Define the printer types and printers available for processing requests.
3. Configure reports and templates – Prepare the reports and templates used to generate labels and other output.
4. Configure report rules – Define which reports and printers should be used for specific requests and conditions.
5. Process requests – Generate labels or reports manually or automatically, depending on the configured scenario.
6. Review processing – Use Requests and Logs to review processing information and investigate unexpected results.
